Engr. Valentine Buraimoh, Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, has noted that Nigerian youths are the cornerstone to societal transformation, hence they are the leaders of today not tomorrow, because tomorrow never comes.
The Council boss made this assertion when the Executive Members of Concerned Youths of Amuwo Odofin LGA paid him a courtesy visit at the Council secretariat, Festac Town, Lagos.
Comrade (Engr.) Valentine Buraimoh, averred that “it would be a grave error, punishable by posterity, for any generation to undermine the peculiar opportunities of its youths.”
He stressed that youths have a greater role to play on national development.
The local government boss while speaking further stated that the role of youths in our community is sacrosanct to the whole developmental processes of any society.
He also noted that his administration is committed to the well being of the people, infrastructure development, environmental sustainability and security of life and property, amongst others.
The Council Chief thanked them for the visit, noting that he will continue to acknowledge their importance. He also hinted that he will discuss with the Federal Housing Authority(FHA), with a view to getting a space of land for an event center for the youths.
Speaking earlier, Comrade Olamide Agbeseyi, the Coordinator of the Concerned youths and congratulated the Chairman on his election victory, while also pledging their support to his administration.
