Popular nightclub owners, Grasshopper Place in Festac town, Lagos,Biosa Anthony Onyia and his brother, DJ Yosir alias Babayosir have floated a new record label, Grasshopper Entertainment and signed 15-year old Precious Ibeh a.k.a Emzy on the new label.
Biosa, who is the Managing Director of Hoppers Communications unveiled the new record label as well as newly signed music act, Emzy at a press parley held last week.
“Today, we unveil our Grasshopper Entertainment as a record label. We have also signed 15 year old Emzy as our first artiste. We will be pushing his songs into the market after the Easter celebration. We have watched him perform and we think this is the only way we can encourage him,” Biosa said.
According to Biosa, “we have been in business for eight years now but have been operating underground. Hoppers is a household name in the entertainment and lifestyle industry in Nigeria but we haven’t really publicized our activities. This is our first press parley, Biosa added.
The Anambra state-born business mogul, who was flanked by his brother DJ Babayosir said that apart from entertainment, they are also into hospitality and services among other lucrative businesses. Emzy who has released about four singles described his kind of music as “Afro pop.” He revealed that he started singing while he was a child. “I was once a Choir master in his church. I sing and I played different instruments such as keyboard among others,” he said.
