It was around 11.15pm when the policemen came to our side on the 7th Avenue and saw the two men on an unregistered motorcycle. They told the rider to stop and we all thought the police, as usual, wanted to extort money from the two men. But as the policemen moved near them, the men jumped down from the okada and fled into the night. When the policemen searched a bag they left behind, they found some guns; about seven I think.

DSP Joe Offor , The state Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that the arms and ammunition were recovered.
