Kidnappers To Be Sentenced To Death, Anti-kidnapping Bill Signed 

It is no news that Kidnapping has been rampant in Lagos State as and as such appropriate measures have been put into place.


Earlier this year, the Kidnapping Prohibition Bill was passed which gave life sentence to kidnappers have been modified adding death sentence to penalty the crime attracts.

The Lagos State governor, Akinwumi Ambode signed into law today the Anti-kidnapping Bill with a strong pledge to ensure its carried out to the latter.

The law states that if a victim dies in custody in course of kidnap.

Also asides from death penalty, Governor Ambode assured lagosians that the state government is putting in place appropraite measures to protect the people  especially schools as well  as other vulnerable targets.

p style=”box-sizing: inherit; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 20px; margin-left: 0px;”>The law as passed states that any person, who kidnaps, abducts, detains, captures or takes another person by any means or tricks with intent to demand ransom or do anything against his/her will, commits an offence, and liable on conviction to death sentence.
