The Community day 2017 celebration in Lagos state kicked off at its various local government areas. In celebration and a yearly / annual event , the community day celebration / carnival was held in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area on 13 May 2017 at the FHA Sports Field, 23 Road Festac Town, Lagos.
Both Amuwo Odofin Local Government and Oriade Local Council Development Area celebrated the day together
This year , it was a double celebration as it was in-tune with the Lagos at 50 Celebration as well so it was the Lagos @ 50 Community Day and Carnival Celebrations. so it was a 2-in-1 celebration.
Community leaders, Chiefs, elders and many more were present to grace the occasion. Though the celebration started behind schedule , everyone was still excited and happy.
Gracing the event was the Sole Administrator, Amuwo-Odofin, Chairman Oriade LCDA, CDC Chairman Amuwo Odofin , House of Assembly Representative, Dipo Olorunrinu, Akeem Bello etc.
Anchoring the day was Lepasious Bose who kept the ball rolling.
The Community Day and Carnival Celebrations was held simultaneously in 20 venues spread across the local governments in the State and featured series of fanfare activities including parade of various street carnival group parade, traditional dancers, children callisthenics display, dance competitions, among others.
The Amuwo Chapter of the Neighbourhood Security Watch, graced the day with a parade and demonstration.
