The president of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari would be paying a two-day visit on 23rd May 2016 & 24th May 2016 to Lagos Metropolis and we all know the implication of this visit traffic wise.
Most roads will be blocked and its advisable to plan your movements properly and if possible have alternative routes. There are some roads you can avoid because those routes might or will be affected. Here they are .
- Avoid Cappa, Ilupeju Bypass, Mushin and Ladipo market area – PMB will Commission the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Rescue Unit in Cappa Oshodi on Monday.
- Avoid Cele area, Ago Palace area, Isolo and Oshodi Apapa expressway – PMB is set to commission the newly constructed Ago palace way on Monday.
- Avoid Lagos Island, Adeniji Adele and Idumota – PMB to pay a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos.
- Avoid TBS, Muson, Onikan, Awolowo road- PMB to hold a grand rally at TBS.
Remember that fuel now sells for N145 per liter so it is imperative you plot your journey very wisely to save time and money.
Update:
Due to the preparation for Ramadan , President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended his scheduled official Visit.
The president will now visit Lagos after the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, told PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday.
The fasting is expected to begin June ending.
Mr. Shehu said the president is faced with ‘scheduling difficulties” difficulties
The president’s office had scheduled the two-day visit, where he was to commission completed projects across the state.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will now represent Mr. Buhari at a low-profile event, Mr. Shehu said.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, later confirmed the development in a statement last night.
