At the recently concluded FTRA Elections,  which 64 eligible  and accredited voters participated  , saw the return of Shola Fakorede  as the President of the FTRA.

The election held at C-Courtesy Events Center on 6th Avenue, Festac Town, at the rate of 23 Executives per community, of the 5 communities that make up Festac Town Residents Association(FTRA) on Saturday, 9th of September 2017.

Just before accreditation and voting proper, a collective formal inauguration of all the communities executives elected earlier, was performed by Pastor Tunde Aroso (Clergy man), who doubled as one of the observers, alongside, Alhaji Munir Umar, Barr Ajayi, Chief Obikobe, Baba Jeje Adeoye, and many others from the various communities.

Dissolution of Central Working Committee was moved in motion and supported, and proper accreditation took place which saw a total number of 64 voters out of the expected 115.

Just after the 1st round of voting for 4 offices (Taken in batches of 4 offices per round of voting), 3 more executives of community 5 came in and were accredited to vote.

Others that came thereafter were denied accreditation and therefore lost their voting rights on account of the fact that they came to the elections venue late.

Thereafter, the business of the day commenced and a peaceful, transparent voting was experienced, amidst banters – just the way it should always be.

For those who have lost, the President promised to accommodate them in committees, by virtue of which they will be members of the central working committee.

He further said that his CWC is open to suggestions/ideas that will assist Festac Town in moving hastily forward.
